CrossFit is an inclusive and varied approach to training which targets improvements in all areas of physical fitness.

It utilises constantly variedfunctional movements performed at different intensities.

Endurance

The ability of body systems to gather, process and deliver oxygen.

Stamina

The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store and utilise energy.

Strength

The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.

Flexibility

The ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.

Power

The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.

Speed

The ability to minimise the time cycle of a repeated movement.

Co-ordination

The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.

Agility

The ability to minimise transition time from one movement pattern to another.

Balance

The ability to control the placement of the body’s centre of gravity in relation to its support base.

Accuracy

The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.

How we do it

We use a mixture of functional exercises such as:

  • Monostructual exercises -run, row and biking for short and long distances.
  • Weightlifting – squat, deadlift, press, snatch, clean and jerk, kettlebell swings, thrusters and many more.
  • Gymnastics – pull ups, press ups, sit ups, ring dips, rope climbs, handstands, jumping and everything in between.

Classes

We want to make your daily workout the best hour of your day.

Our one hour long class is constantly varied and FUN!

You’ll be put through a mixture of stretching, skill practices, strength work and/or a workout (WOD).

The daily “WOD” (workout of the day) will vary from day to day.

Every workout can be scaled to the individual taking into account factors such as current fitness level, ability, age, etc. Although we will encourage everyone to push outside of their comfort zone on a regular basis, we will never make anybody do something they aren’t comfortable with.

  • Whiteboard introduction.
  • Warm up/mobilise.
  • Strength/skill component or start longer workout.
  • Workout of the day.
  • Cool down/stretch.
